Your journey into the polluted wilderness starts with a set of choices. Paradox’s survival management sim has the potential to be something special, but never builds on that to set itself apart from other, more unique games in the genre.
I mean what Surviving the Aftermath has me doing to contend with these disasters is something I’ve seen before, many times. I don’t mean that in a philosophical sense, although the exploitation of resources, warmongering, and frequent disasters have clear parallels with modern society. An extension of the user interface allows you to manage every single step to unify the wasteland.The end of the world is a familiar thing in Surviving the Aftermath.Bandits and beasts are now roaming the wasteland and your colonies must be protected.Positive interactions with other companies increase your reputation.You meet different societies and support them in their progress.Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances key features at a glance Above all, this is intended to add a new strategic layer to the Wasteland. A new faction, ready to subdue anyone not strong enough to fight back, is also making its way into the game. There are also new creatures that move across the world map and react to player actions. Working together with others is more important than ever as the wasteland and its inhabitants have evolved too. Surviving the Aftermath: New Alliances goes beyond the confines of player settlement, allowing you to influence and collaborate with other societies in new ways.
